Beautiful Nelson

A walk after dinner along beautiful Tahuna Beach
We arrived back into Nelson on the evening of the 7th of January to pleasant warm conditions. After dropping Joan off, we returned to our apartment/sleepout which was ready for our arrival, the way we had left it in April 2015.
Before the big trim

Looking a bit bare now but room to sit
and enjoy the morning sun

Had friend John (The Leaf Company) come and
help with his super efficient gear
Next morning we were into socialising early with friends Vicki & Trevor and their family before they all headed away later that morning. Vicki had the tiresome job of clearing our mail box while we have been away, and did a great job of scanning anything to us that may have required follow up. We tried to stop paper mail as much as we could but some companies wont change to emails yet due to security issues they say. So a huge thank you Vicki, it was wonderful support. And it's hard to beat a good Kiwi breakfast on the BBQ, and Nelson produce pretty good croissants too. A delicious breakfast was enjoyed.
We have spent the past couple of weeks catching up on friends and family and work colleagues. Good to see life hasn't changed too much while we have been away. Lovely catching up again, doesn't feel like nearly two years since we were together last.
We have been working in our own garden doing a huge trim back of our larger trees that over the two years mushroomed out immensely.
Also minor maintenance on the house with Bill painting all the window sills, the sun's impact causing the paint to start flaking off. Otherwise the house appears well looked after by our Tenants.
We have also spent time out at Rocky's rental working through the list the Property Manager had supplied her for a followup on our return. Nothing too expensive, just quite a bit of labour. Be ready for our bill Rocky!
It is hard to beat home. Loving Nelson.
Our current Tenants have been very obliging with our request to be able to stay at our property in our Sleepout, which is very convenient to work & socialise from. So we have had three weeks here.
Next we have a weekend coming up in Riwaka, where Bill & I are looking after two of my great nieces while Mum & Dad (Nicki & Simon) head down to Christchurch for business with their Brewery (Hop Federation). Bill keeps telling everyone he is babysitting the Brewery.
Yeah Right!  Will update in the next blog.
